WOW!
while i will concede with hanny and say that
scrabble IS based upon ATTAINED knowledge of
the english language, in real game play, dictionarys
should be used for challenges.
however, when playing literati... the rules are
a tad bit different.
in a regular game of scrabble, you place the
tiles and THEN check to see if the word is legit
IF a challenge has been set. if your word is
wrong, you lose the turn.
in literati, the word is checked (via dictionary.com)
after you click SUBMIT. and you do not lose
your turn. which isn't comparable to scrabble
at all.
since you do not forfeit your turn when placing
an incorrect sequence of tiles on literati,
i find it completely agreeable that checking
the word PRIOR to placement is ok.
regardless, there have been many times that
i have not been allowed a word. there have also
been times that i have just placed tiles and
hoped that it would submit (TG's famous trick).
in the recent game with TG and hanny, this
occured with the word TOR...
it was pure chance that it would have been
accepted.
while i have made (seemingly) impressive maneuvers
in literati, i have been beaten many times.
TG has beaten me three or four times. and there
have been cases that TG has randomly placed
tiles and actually gotten a word...
such is the case with WOAD (in the pic).
you cannot tell me that TG knew of that word
before he placed the tiles. he guessed and
got it accepted.
so what?
anyways... i'd love to play against anyone willing.
and as far as the TG bet offered to gravy,
i'd be willing to play against gravy if the
bet were made... or if the bet were not made.
i just like the damn game. =)

so....anyone ever got 107 pts with just 1 word?

your lack of the ability to remain humble
supercedes the fact that i am too coward
